Graphic Designer

Embarking on a project to create a logo and comprehensive branding guide for Upper Crust Bakery, I embraced the opportunity to design with the elegance, sophistication, and indulgence of a French patisserie in mind. The logo, sporting macaroons, and a color palette of purple, lavender, white, and black, was a nod to the bakery’s French roots. This branding journey took me through the creation of a detailed guide, featuring logo guidelines, typefaces, color palette usage, and stationary mock-ups. To further enhance the brand’s identity, a French store cover was conceptualized with a scalloped edge and alternating purple and lavender hues. My designs, crafted with appropriate graphic design software and digital tools, were a reflection of the authentic French culture and the delicate allure of macaroons. The design principles of line, color, shape, form, value, space, texture, contrast, balance, emphasis, and hierarchy, were my accomplices in this venture, helping me create a design that was both visually pleasing and technically adept.

The brainstorming phase saw me delving into the world of French culture, authentic bakery recipes, and the unique appeal of macaroons. I was mindful of the ethical guidelines and ensured my designs resonated with the bakery’s values. Feedback was a valuable part of the journey, particularly the observation about the dropped letter ‘U’ in the logo, which I rectified to enhance the overall balance of the design. I was as committed to the craftsmanship as I was to the concept, ensuring clarity and resolution of images, color accuracy, understanding of grid and format, and typography readability. In the end, my work for Upper Crust Bakery stands as a testament to my advanced knowledge of graphic design software, a deep understanding of design principles, and my unwavering commitment to creativity, originality, and ethics.
